Workplace Mediation

Misunderstandings are often at the root of workplace conflict
It is said that the level and quality of communication in a work community says a lot about the work environment. Conflicts and problems often arise from different views or values, misunderstandings and different interpretations of an issue. When these issues are not resolved and communicated about, they become a burden on the whole work community in the long run and can lead to cooperation and interaction problems, and deteriorate the atmosphere in the work community, causing illbeing and sick leaves.
Early intervention improves collaboration and overall functioning
Addressing workplace issues in a proactive manner and resolving conflicts increases the functionality and efficiency of the work community and improves mutual cooperation and well-being. Problem-solving also has a financial dimension in addition to the perceived illbeing. A healthy communication culture in the workplace has both a productive and cost-reducing effect. Preventing, addressing, resolving and solving workplace issues is an employer's responsibility under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
A step-by-step workplace mediation process built on shared solutions
Workplace mediation is a step-by-step process designed to find possible solutions to workplace problems and lead to an agreement between the parties. The process is driven by our trained workplace mediator, while solutions emerge through the individuals involved in the mediation process.
Mediation begins with individual discussions, where the mediator meets with each party individually and allows each person to share their perspective on the incident or situation. The individual meetings are followed by a joint mediation meeting, where everyone has the opportunity to share their experiences without interruption. This is followed by a collective search for solutions and an agreement on the ground rules for the way forward, with the aim of reaching a common understanding and solutions to which everyone can commit. Monitoring is also an essential part of the process to ensure that what has been agreed will be implemented.
